At the start of August, 1999, Jeffra and I spent a week in Southern
Mexico, in the Yucatán peninsula. We flew into Cancún
and then proceeded to visit Isla Mujeres, Chichén Itzá,
Mérida, Ticul, Uxmal, Tulum, and then back to Cancún. We
wanted to visit some of the remains of the ancient Maya civilisations
that lived in Yucatán and Quintana Roo. As a side effect, we
learned how to navigate the Mexican bus system, and also provided a
new source of food for the indigenous bug population. |
